| What did the Department of Psychology at Fo Guang University offer you? Fo Guang University's Department of Psychology was a crucial turning point in my life. It not only provided me with a solid academic foundation but also became the place where I took root in the academic field. During my master’s studies, I had several opportunities to present my work internationally (e.g., Japan Neuroscience Society, Society for Neuroscience, Federation of European Neuroscience Societies, etc.). I also received multiple Ministry of Science and Technology awards to attend international conferences. Domestic presentations were numerous as well (e.g., Taiwan Psychological Association, Taiwan Biomedical Conference, etc.). These academic experiences were honors I could not have imagined before joining the psychology department at Fo Guang University and laid the foundation for my decision to pursue a doctoral degree. A Message for High School Students: With the advancement of AI, I believe that education in the future will undergo major changes. For the "learning" part, you might be able to acquire knowledge through books and the internet. However, the "development" part—what your future teachers will help you develop (such as critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and leadership)—is what will truly shape you and be a lifelong challenge. These qualities are the key to becoming a successful person. The way the professors in Fo Guang University's psychology department cultivate students goes beyond academic knowledge transmission, placing emphasis on the development of these essential qualities.
