【Latest News】Students from the Department of Psychology's Physiological Psychology Laboratory Present Posters at the 2025 69th Taiwan Biomedical Joint Annual Conference

From March 22 to 23, 2025, students from the Physiological Psychology Laboratory of the Department of Psychology at Fo Guang University participated in the 69th Taiwan Biomedical Joint Annual Conference held at the National Defense Medical Center. During the conference, they presented ten research posters on a variety of topics related to physiological psychology, including drug addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and neuroinflammation, showcasing their research findings in these fields.

The conference attracted scholars and professionals from the academic community, providing students with an opportunity to present their academic work. The research topics presented included the effects of abused drugs on opioid use disorder, neuroresponses in animal models of PTSD, and the reward and aversion effects of alcohol in rats. These studies reflect the students' efforts and exploration in experimental design and data analysis.

This event offered students a platform for academic exchange with other scholars and further enhanced the reputation of the Department of Psychology at Fo Guang University in the academic field.

Below are some of the research topics presented by the students:
  • The paradoxical effect hypothesis of abused drugs on opioid use disorder

  • Footshock stress induces freezing behavior and interleukin-1beta expression in the medial prefrontal cortex, amygdala, and hippocampus during situational reminder: a posttraumatic stress animal model test

  • Neuroinflammation cytokines interleukin-1 beta in morphine’s paradoxical effects reward and aversion

  • Effects of oxytocin in posttraumatic stress disorder affecting rewarding and aversive effects induced by alcohol

  • Dopamine and GABA systems mediate reward and aversion by alcohol in rats
