Latest News】Graduate Students from the "Forensic Psychology" Course at the Department of Psychology, Fo Guang University, Visit the Yilan District Court.

On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, the faculty and students from the "Forensic Psychology" course took part in an educational visit to the Yilan District Court. This visit included both a tour and a series of lectures, providing students with a deeper understanding of the practical handling of domestic and juvenile cases in Taiwan. The group was accompanied by the course instructor and 22 students.

Three guest lecturers were invited to provide specialized talks on topics related to juvenile protection mechanisms and the practical operations of family law cases. The team included a current judge who detailed the juvenile protection process and interacted with students, encouraging psychology graduates to consider careers in the public sector.

The visit also included a tour of certain open areas within the court, allowing students to observe the case processing firsthand. The lecturers specifically highlighted how counseling and protection mechanisms are integrated into court judgments, balancing fair trials with the development of juveniles. This gave students a more comprehensive understanding of psychology's application within the judicial system.

Through this visit, students gained a deeper insight into the practical workings of family and juvenile courts and explored the diverse applications of psychology within the public service sector. It also opened up new career possibilities for their future career planning.
