Internship: Mackay Memorial Hospital Department of Psychiatry Recruitment for Clinical Psychology Interns for the 114th Academic Year (General Psychiatry Internship)

1. Unit Introduction:
The Department of Psychiatry at Mackay Memorial Hospital was established in 1961. Adhering to the Christian principle of "love thy neighbor as thyself," the department has been providing comprehensive services for people of all ages with various psychological challenges for nearly 50 years. The department boasts a team of experienced clinical psychologists who are also supervisors and instructors at various schools or long-term community service providers. The team fosters a friendly and collaborative work environment. We welcome students interested in learning more about adult or adolescent clinical psychology to join our team, where they will gain professional knowledge, critical thinking abilities, and professional attitudes in clinical service.

2. Hospital Campus Features:

• Taipei Campus: Ranked among the top three outpatient volumes in Taiwan, serving a diverse range of cases primarily for individuals aged 18 and above.
• Tamsui Campus: Includes psychiatric acute wards, day care wards, and outpatient services (for children, adolescents, adults, and elderly cases).

3. Internship Period (Three options available):

• Full-Year: From July 1, 114 (2025) to June 30, 115 (2026)
• First Half of the Year: From July 1, 114 to December 31, 114
• Second Half of the Year: From January 1, 115 to June 30, 115

4. Internship Locations:

• Clinical Psychology Department, Department of Psychiatry, Mackay Memorial Hospital (Taipei and/or Tamsui campuses).
• For those applying for a full-year internship, half of the time will be at the Taipei campus and the other half at the Tamsui campus.
• For those applying for a half-year internship, please indicate the desired internship period (first or second half) and the preferred campus (Taipei, Tamsui, or both).

5. Internship Content:

• Familiarization with basic clinical practices: outpatient and inpatient (adult and child/adolescent) assessments or therapy referrals, educational morning meetings, case discussions, academic lectures, and supervision sessions.
• Exposure to the operation of a psychiatric hospital's medical team: participation in regular ward rounds and other professional activities.
• Familiarization with clinical psychology administrative duties.

6. Clinical Faculty:

• Clinical Psychologists: Zhan Meiyu, Zhong Zhaoying, Lin Yijie, Zhang Zhi-Hong, Wu Yirong, Zhang Yuchen.

7. Recruitment Quota:

• 2-3 interns per campus (total for full-year and half-year internships combined).
• Applicants for full-year internships will be prioritized.

8. Eligibility:

• Master's level clinical psychology students from domestic graduate schools (part-time internships are not accepted).
• Must have completed relevant courses required for adult psychiatry (or child psychiatry) internships.
• Must be regularly supervised by a faculty member for internship and psychological therapy.

11. Review Process and Announcement:

• Two-stage review: Stage 1 will involve a document review, and Stage 2 will involve written tests/interviews.
• The list of applicants who pass Stage 1 will be announced on the hospital website and via email by October 22, 113.
• Stage 2 written tests/interviews will take place on October 26, 113 (Saturday), at 8:50 AM.
