Taiwan Psychotherapy Association Family Therapy Series – 2025 Symposium
When Therapists Encounter Couples and Families: Local Models of Family Therapy Training
For over a decade, the Taiwan Psychotherapy Association’s family therapy series has adhered to the principle of “returning to the therapy room”, fostering a dynamic dialogue between local clinical experience and classical theory, and promoting deep exploration of practice grounded in local context.
This year, the symposium’s theme is: “When Therapists Encounter Couples and Families — Multigenerational Challenges in the New Era.” It focuses on the complex changes faced in contemporary therapeutic settings and invites practitioners from clinical, academic, and community fields to demonstrate therapeutic sessions, sharing how they accompany families through various challenges.
Highlights include:
-
Family sessions with siblings in long-term care households
-
Medical family therapy for children with cancer
-
Open dialogue in families experiencing mental health crises
-
Applications of phenomenology in local family therapy practice
The symposium offers rich and engaging content. Participants will have the opportunity to observe senior therapists navigate complex clinical situations while also exchanging insights across generations and therapeutic orientations.
Held every two years, TPA’s family therapy series is one of the few professional events in Taiwan that emphasizes practical, live demonstrations from clinical settings, and each session generates enthusiastic responses. We warmly invite you to join us to explore the multiple landscapes of couple and family relationships and co-create therapeutic practices that are deeply aligned with life and cultural contexts.
