Instructor: Lin Yu-Fang, Counseling Psychologist
Organizer: Taiwan Counseling Psychology Association
Format: Online (Zoom)
Registration Link: https://reurl.cc/GNNEay

Course Description:
This course begins with a neuroscience perspective to deconstruct emotions—from traditional views to constructivist approaches—and examine how emotional load affects both you and your clients. Participants will then create a practical regulation map, explore the triune brain structure, and apply the polyvagal theory in counseling practice. The course also emphasizes understanding the profound effects of trauma on the brain.

This is more than a lecture; it’s a commitment to yourself. Through instruction, case examples, experiential activities, and short exercises, participants will learn to identify signs of burnout and equip themselves with evidence-based stress reduction tools—building a personalized resilience toolkit. Continuous self-care is not selfish; it is a necessary investment to maintain professional effectiveness, uphold ethical practice, and protect personal well-being.

This course is part of a series with Professor Wu Li-Juan’s course:
“Common Challenges in Counseling Sessions: Personal Growth and Session Difficulties from an Interpersonal Process Therapy Perspective.”
