Course Description:
This course provides an introductory overview of six major classes of psychotropic medications, including indications, common side effects, and precautions. Participants will also explore:

  • The interplay between pharmacological treatment and psychological counseling

  • The role of psychiatric medications in psychosomatic symptoms

  • Strategies for counselors to intervene and collaborate effectively with clients on medication management

Credits: Continuing education credits for licensed counseling psychologists have been applied for, including “Quality” and “Infection Control” modules.

This course is ideal for mental health professionals seeking a practical understanding of psychotropic medications and their interaction with counseling interventions.
