Course Introduction
In clinical practice, we often face the challenge of diverse client issues. In particular, when working with cases involving self-harm, it requires not only the helper's crisis assessment and intervention but also tests the helper's personal physical, mental, and professional stabilization.
When helpers can settle themselves, they are better equipped to provide a more comfortable presence and response for the client. Furthermore, when a helper faces the suicide of a client, they may experience internal voices suggesting they should have provided better support or responses, leading to internal conflict. In this course, the lecturer will explore the issues of physical, mental, and professional stabilization from the helper's perspective. This aims to allow helping professionals to develop more solid adjustment and coping strategies when facing suicide-related cases in the future.
