FGU Psychology Department’s Clinical Psychology Master’s Program Achieves New Milestone: Eight Graduates Pass National Examination for Clinical Psychologists

The Master’s Program in Clinical Psychology at Fo Guang University once again celebrates remarkable success. This year, eight graduates passed the 2025 National Examination for Clinical Psychologists, officially earning their professional qualifications and realizing their dream of becoming clinical psychologists.

Since its establishment eleven years ago, the Clinical Psychology program has been dedicated to small-class, high-quality teaching. All full-time faculty members hold doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from National Taiwan University. Their research expertise covers a wide range of critical areas, including emotional disorders, trauma, mindfulness, attachment, and interpersonal interaction—fields that align with the core development of contemporary clinical psychology. Many faculty members also hold influential positions in professional associations.

In addition to rigorous core clinical training, students benefit from diverse resources and extracurricular learning opportunities offered by the department. Specialized lectures and workshops—such as play therapy, forensic psychology, criminal psychology, and geriatric psychology—further enrich students’ professional knowledge and broaden their clinical perspectives, enhancing their future competitiveness.

Since the first graduating class, the program’s cumulative passing rate in the national examination has consistently remained above 90%, far exceeding the national average. Graduates also quickly enter healthcare institutions, donning the white coat to serve patients and safeguard mental health as frontline professionals.

Notably, starting from the 2025 academic year, the department has received approval from the Ministry of Education to establish a new Counseling Psychology Program, complementing the existing Clinical Psychology Program. Together, they will further strengthen FGU’s commitment to cultivating future clinical and counseling psychologists. Rooted in Yilan, the department continues to grow as a vital training base for mental health professionals, contributing to the well-being of society.
